Tom Syers

Thomas R Syers is a graduate of the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry. He has currently served 19 years in the Army. His awards include the Senior Parachutist Badge, Army Pathfinder Badge and Air Assault Badge.
Tom began his military career in 1984 by joining the Navy and serving as a Electronics Technician in Guam. Afterwards in 1992 he entered college and Army ROTC successfully graduating and entering the Army. His first duty station was Germany where he deployed in support of IFOR and KFOR operations. In 2000 Tom entered service with USASOC at FT. Bragg NC and served thru 2007. During his service with 7th SFG (A), he executed the duties as the 7th SFG (A) Transportation Manager and Commanded the Service Detachment of over 120 soldiers during two 7th SFG (A) deployments to OIF and several global split based operations. To date his decorations include the Bronze Star, Valorous Unit, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Army Achievement Medals. He has deployed and served in numerous campaigns to include IFOR, KFOR, OEF and OIF and Columbia.
Tom is currently serving as a Major and has 19 years of combined service. His military training includes Airborne School, Jumpmaster School, SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape), Transportation Officer Basic Course, Navy Electronics Technician School and Naval Nuclear Power School.
Her awards and decorations include the Parachutist Badge, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, four Army Commendations, six Army Achievement awards, Army Good Conduct Medal, two National Defense Service Medals, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, two Kosovo Campaign Medals, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, the NATO Service Medal, Overseas Service Medal and a Presidential Unit Citation.
